apartments Rhodes

The Rhodes island is located on the edge of the Meditarranean and Aegean seas and it provides great conditions for family stays in Rhodes as well as active holidays and windsurfing in Greece. This marvellous island hides a lot of sights whose history origins in times of the antique Greece, but it also has a number of beautiful beaches and rich recreational self-realization. The west coast bathed by the waters of the Aegean sea is windier and mountainous and demonstrates the wild beauty of the island, the east coast is calm and offers bathing in crystal clear waters of the Meditarranean sea. The dominanat point of the northern part of the island is the capital – Rhodes.

The old town Rhodes is a pearl of the island with a unique atmosphere. You will find impressive curtain walls, narrow isles full of tavernas, restaurants, shops and also a busy harbour where one of the seven wonders of the world used to stand – the Colossus of Rhodes. The most northern part where waters of both seas meet is lined by nice beaches with sufficient background. You will encounter loads of boat trips offers around the island or to the neighbour islands.

The eastern coast of the Rhodes island attracts people mainly because of its clean sandy beaches, romantic bays and recreational destinations. The historical town of Lindos is by no doubt the most beautiful place of this part – it has an antic acropolis and a tangle of streets and isles below. Sandy beaches with a slow entrance to the water lined by cliffs and calm bays offer pleasant bathing suitable for children, too. The Faliraki town and the Kalithea spa belong among the most known places.

The western coast of the island is searched by windsurfing and kiteboarding lovers mainly. The ever-present wind provides great conditions for those sports and you can also find lots of windsurfing schools and rentals there. The beaches are with pebbles mostly or sandy with pebbles. The remains of an antic town called Kamiros are worth mentioning (also called the Pompeii of Rhodes) with their large archaeological excavations and an impressive Monolithos castle which is on a 240 metres high rock above the sea.

TRANSPORT ON THE ISLAND: car rentals in all the towns (from 30 EUR/day according to the car type and number of days to rent, we recommend to book in advance in the peak season) and motorbikes ( from 12 EUR/day). There are buses going throughout the whole island with well-arranged labellings, you can get everywhere with them. A taxi is an alternative to the buses (when the car is full, the price almost equals to the one of a bus). The bus and taxi stations are directly by the exit from the airport.
